Informazione generale

Our goal is to save one of the last undeveloped areas of the coast of Granada, located next to the Special Preservation Area (Zona de Especial Conservación — ZEC) and the Sea Cliffs of La Caleta-Salobreña.

It is an area threatened by two projects:

• The construction of a villa complex
• The construction of a luxury hotel

To access them, they intend to build an avenue along the track of the existing cattle route, called La Colada de Sierra Nevada a Almuñécar. This old path is used daily by all kinds of passers-by, hikers and shepherds themselves.

We want to demarcate this section of the cattle route, but now, due the new Andalusian Fee Law, we are forced to carry out what should be done as a matter of course by our administration, paying €6,000 out of our own pocket.

For over 11 years, in the mentioned area, there has been El Carrizal Ecological Reserve, where many activities related to the environment are carried out, and the only access to this reserve is through the aforementioned cattle route, which, once converted into an avenue, would give access to the villa complex and the hotel that they intend to build.

What does "to demarcate the cattle route" mean?

A cattle track is a path that is highly protected by law. In the past, the track of this ancient path was illegally altered to facilitate future development projects, making its route appear on maps in geographically impossible places. Now, we want to officially state (demarcate) its true track.

This is the reason why we are carrying out this crowdfunding, to raise funds to demarcate the cattle route and prevent the destruction of this area of high natural value.

Motivazione e a chi si dirige il progetto

Our cause is to preserve this area of the coast of Granada of huge environmental value and recover the cattle route to maintain the natural value of this area and keep it for public use and enjoyment.

Therefore, we ask for help to all groups related to the environment and people with awareness and concern for nature.

Esperienza previa e team

This project is promoted by Guadalfeo-Ecologistas en Acción in collaboration with El Carrizal Ecological Reserve.

We have a long history of work related to the environment protection and preservation, including cattle route recovery and demarcation. We count on the collaboration and help of a large group of people, including biologists, geographers, geologists and environmental technicians.

The actions of this initiative are carried out within the framework of the "S.O.S Costa de Granada" campaign, which we are currently carrying out to try to save the few undeveloped areas of our coast that still conserve natural values and that are in imminent danger of being urbanised.
